Colorado
After I got back from Taiwan I drove my brother back to school in Boulder
CO. It was a cool drive but a really long one. If you have an chance please
visit there. It is beautiful in the the summer as well as the winter.
Chicago
I also visited Chicago after I got back from CO. Some advice for the travelers.
Don't count on getting a place to stay in Chicago while the Monet exibit
is on. Me and my friend ended up staying at a hotel that was 200 bucks
a night. Kind of puts a crimp on the wallet. It was a hotel where everyone
knew how to speak Japanese and the hostesses were all wearing kimonos.
To kick it all off they wanted 30 dollars for my freaking car. By this
time I had looped around Chicago for around an hour so I just gave them
the damn thing. But yeah I went to my first Hard Rock CafÚ and it
was pretty good.
New Orleans
I was sitting at home as bored as ever one day and my friend nick calls.
He says "I am going to pick you up in 3 hours do you want to go to
New Orleans?". Being the fun loving guy that I am I say sure. Of course.
Thinking of course that we would drive such a large distance in 2 days.
Not so. We drive strait through and I am sitting in the back of what is
essentialy a truck rear seat, and woried as all hell. But New Orleans has
some great Resturaunts, Mulet's, Mike's Seafood palace on Bourbon is also
good. If you go to Mike's Seafood Palace get the Ultimate sampler, it is
really good. And if you really think about it that is all that life is
really about. Food Kicks Ass In New Orleans
Colorado
Spring Break '96 was a lot of fun. After all it is not everyday that you
can say "hey let's ski at 11000 feet" (unless you are my brother
of course). But another suggestion for the first time skiier. If you live
below 1000 feet, don't try to be radical on your first day...You will kill
yourself. We seriously woke up early, drove out there then fell asleep
on top of the mountain. Also BRING YOUR OWN FOOD, unless you enjoy paying
8 dollars for a bowl of Chili(although it was really good). And if you
go into Boulder, go to Ben & Jerry's, and some Vietnamese Resturuant
on Pearl Street. On College or University there is a good little take-out
place call "Kim's Go-Go" it is not a strip joint but they make
a mean Spring Roll. Pearl Street is really cool, it is a very nice pedestrian
road that has some REALLY nice stores on each side. There are also some
very talented street performers, like the "ZIP CODE" Guy who
for a tip will tell you what Zip Code you live in. You say "55113"
He will say "Roseville/St.Paul". Kind of neat eh? There are impostors
so be careful eh kids.
Chicago
For those of you who don't know I was supposed to visit Felicia 2 times
prior to this and I was going to make it this time.
